Teen Director
Position Summary:
The Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Development Professional (YDP) - Teen Director to oversee and implement programs specifically designed for our teen members. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where teens can develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The YDP - Teen Director will work closely with the Program Director to ensure that all teen programs align with the club’s mission and meet the needs of our teen members.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Implementation:
Design and implement programs tailored to the interests and needs of teens, promoting academic success, leadership, career exploration, and healthy lifestyles.
Plan and execute events, workshops, and activities that engage teens in meaningful experiences and foster positive relationships.
Ensure that all programs are inclusive, age-appropriate, and aligned with the club's mission and goals.
Teen Engagement & Mentorship:
Build strong, positive relationships with teen members, acting as a mentor and role model.
Encourage and support teens in setting and achieving personal, academic, and career goals.
Foster a safe and welcoming environment where all teens feel valued and respected.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the Program Director to align teen programs with overall club objectives and initiatives.
Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding teen members' progress and participation.
Collaborate with other YDPs to integrate teen programs with broader club activities and initiatives.
Behavior Management & Safety:
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all teen members during programs and activities.
Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively, following the club’s policies and procedures.
Promote a positive and inclusive culture within the teen programs.
Facility & Resource Management:
Ensure that teen program spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped for activities.
Manage and maintain program supplies and resources, coordinating with the Program Director for any necessary purchases or replacements.
Community Outreach & Partnerships:
Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, organizations, and businesses to enhance teen programs and provide additional opportunities for members.
Represent the club at community events and outreach activities to promote teen programs and recruit new members.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with teens in a youth development or educational setting.
Strong understanding of adolescent development and the challenges facing today’s teens.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs and activities.
Passion for working with teens and commitment to the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
