Senior Youth Development Professional Lead
Position Summary:
The Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Youth Development Professional (YDP) Lead to guide and mentor our youth development team while delivering high-quality programs for our members. Reporting to the Program Director, this position is responsible for leading program activities, supporting staff development, and ensuring a safe, positive environment for all youth participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership:
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of daily activities, programs, and events that align with the club’s mission to help young people achieve their full potential.
Develop and implement engaging activities that promote academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
Ensure all programs are safe, inclusive, and meet the developmental needs of youth members.
Staff Supervision & Development:
Provide leadership and mentorship to Youth Development Professionals (YDPs), supporting them in delivering high-quality programming.
Conduct regular team meetings, share best practices, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Assist in onboarding and training new YDPs, ensuring they understand and adhere to the club’s policies and procedures.
Member Engagement & Safety:
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members, encouraging active participation and respect among peers.
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all members during programs and activities, addressing any behavioral issues promptly and effectively.
Build strong relationships with members, acting as a role model and trusted advisor.
Communication & Reporting:
Maintain clear and open communication with parents, guardians, and school staff to ensure the well-being and progress of members.
Provide regular updates to the Program Director on program successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Assist in tracking and reporting attendance, participation, and program outcomes.
Facility & Resource Management:
Ensure that program spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped for daily activities.
Manage and maintain program supplies and resources, coordinating with the Program Director for any necessary purchases or replacements.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth in a similar role, with a strong understanding of youth development principles.
Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs and activities.
Passion for working with youth and commitment to the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
